From the President
Savannah Navy League Members!
First and foremost, I want to thank everyone of you for trusting and electing me as the President of the Savannah Council of the Navy League. I accept this position with great pride and humility, and I am truly honored to serve alongside such a dedicated group.
Although I officially stepped into this role just two short months ago in January 2025, it has been an incredibly active and inspiring period for our Savannah Navy League. I have been deeply impressed by the extraordinary level of commitment and passion demonstrated by our volunteer members. Witnessing firsthand the seamless execution of recent events has been truly remarkable. The tireless efforts in coordinating the USS Savannah crew's arrival, the solemn and respectful SGT William Jasper Green ceremony, and our enthusiastic participation in the St. Patrick's Day Parade – including transportation, hospitality, and the creation of fantastic promotional materials – all contributed to an unforgettable week. As a first-time participant in these festivities as a member of the Savannah Navy League, I was struck by the unwavering dedication of our members. Furthermore, the U.S. Navy Band concert at Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus was a resounding success. The diligence of our members in promoting this event, coupled with the excellent coordination of the Savannah State University Color Guard, whose participation added so significantly to the ceremony, made for a truly special evening. I extend my sincere gratitude to all who attended and supported the concert on that late Saturday evening. It is achievements like these, driven by the hard work and dedication of our members, that led to the Savannah Navy League receiving the prestigious Best Council Award from the National Navy League of the United States. This recognition is a testament to the collective spirit and unwavering support you all bring to our mission. Looking ahead, I am filled with enthusiasm for what we can accomplish together. The energy and dedication I have witnessed in these first two months are truly inspiring. As the saying goes, Savannah Navy League Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! I am excited to embark on this journey with you and continue to strengthen our ties with the Sea Ser vices and our community. Thank you for your continued support. Val Reynolds President
