Mighty Eighth CEO our Speaker in March

Scott W. Loehr is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  He holds a BA in History from Florida State University and earned an MA in History, with concentrations in Historic
    Preservation and Museum Studies, from Colorado State University.  Mr. Loehr joined
the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force as President/CEO in December2017. 
He is in his 34th year of leading public-history organizations, having held directorships with the State Historical Society of Delaware, Wilmington, DE; Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex in Fayetteville, NC; the Newport Historical Society, Newport, RI; and the Augusta Museum of History in Augusta, GA. He is a field evaluator/ grants reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. 

Mr. Loehr is co-author of one local history book and the co-editor of another. He has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, and presently sits on the Board of Directors of the Pooler, GA Chamber of Commerce.  Scott is married to the former Deborah Braxton, a native of Ayden, NC.  They have two sons – Ryan and Thomas; and three grandsons.
